Are You Wishing Your Life Away?

On Tuesday I went to pick up a parcel at the UPS counter in a local home decor place. After some general chit-chat, the woman at the counter joked about how she thought it had been such a long week and how she’d been sure it was Friday. She was very disappointed to find out that it was only Tuesday….

How many people do you know, including yourself, who try to cram your entire life – what you REALLY want to be doing and how you really want to be expressing yourself – between Friday night and Sunday night? And spending the rest of your week drowning in boredom and apathy, or downright frustration and torment?

Do you know what it means when you feel such apathy and frustration?

It means that the work you are doing is not in alignment with your life purpose. You are not expressing your soul.

What do you think that means for you, your body and your soul as you age? The number one thing is stress. As time goes by you become literally “sick and tired” of not following your life purpose. It ages you prematurely, and also causes stress-related illness such as heart and gut conditions, as well as cancer. Imagine what you will be saying to yourself about how you lived your life when you are 80-something.

When you are creating income through a path that is aligned with your purpose, then you experience joy, flow, creativity, and abundance. How do you think you would feel with that lifestyle? Healthy? Energetic? Purposeful? You bet!

So take some time to think about your work. Is it time to follow your highest path and purpose?

If you don’t know what your purpose is, think (and journal) about a couple of things:

  1. Think about what you would love to do. Who is doing what you want to be doing? Who do you admire and would love to trade places with (even for just a little while)? And,
  2. Think about what you’ve been through in your life – the trials and tribulations that have been your life lessons.

In the first one, you will activate the gap between where you are now and where you soul would like you to go. In the second one, life purpose and life lesson are two sides of the same coin, and they are inextricably linked. Therefore helping others through the same thing that you have been through is often the path of living your purpose.

When you are done answering the above two questions, consider where there are similarities.

To your joy and abundance!

Blessings,

Keena
